Quarantined: A Virtual Pop-up Art Exhibit

Zoom Link: please checkthe facebook event 15 minutes before the event for the link to our virtual gallery.

The exhibition QUARANTINED is about the ways in which artists deploy art to explore their roles as social actors in times of isolation. Borrowed from Italian 'quaranta giorni,' literally 'space of forty days,' — period a ship suspected of carrying disease is kept in isolation, the title contemplates the potential of art and offers a provocation to the public to exert their own social influence in the rapidly changing world.

Presented in a pop-up gallery opening format over Zoom, the exhibition features works by renowned and emerging artists from Minnesota Street Project Artist Studios, a collective of San Francisco Bay Area-based artists committed to supporting one another through the use of shared space and resources. Taken together, the works in QUARANTINED demonstrate solidarity amidst uncertainty and systemic dismantle of cultural norms.
